The Best White Paint Colors With Pink or Pickled Wood Stains
Shades of White That Make Pink Feel Alright
Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of white! Just joking; you’re not welcome.
Why?
Pink-toned woods can be pretty darn fussy about their white trim, wall, and cabinet partners! It’s not to say you can’t; you just need to sample and compare, as depending on HOW PINK or pickled your wood is, it could put up a good fight when it comes to white.
Why?
You ask a lot of questions—I like that about you. The most popular white paint colors have a yellow undertone. And what two colors don’t always love each other? Pink and yellow. Sure, they work in some palettes, but it’s a challenge. As mentioned above, it can depend on how pink or pickled your wood stain is.

Now, enough gravy already; let’s get into the meat n’ potatoes of this blog post…

Of course, I provide as much free information as possible to help you on your way. If you need personal help, I offer Online Color Consulting!
THE BEST SHADES OF WHITE FOR PINK & PICKLED WOODS
Let’s start by taking a look at this gorgeous, updated 1990s kitchen. The walls are painted Benjamin Moore Cloud White.

The Best Light Green Paint Colors
In this room, Cloud White is a bit too warm-yellow for the degree of light pink in this wood floor; however, combined with the GLORIOUSLY green painted kitchen cabinets, the combo works. If the cabinets and walls were all Cloud White, they could look a wink too yellow on such a large scale with no mediating color.
To sum that up, with a wood with reasonably strong pink hues, the warmth of Cloud White can be a bit much.
This next kitchen has 1990s red oak flooring with a pink hue. With the degree of saturation of this wood floor and stronger red hue (less pink), Sherwin Williams Alabaster looks beautiful…

Ideas to Update Your 1990s Home
The more muted or dark (closer to red) your pink-toned wood is, the better your chance of using a traditionally warm, popular shade of white.
Let’s look at Sherwin Williams Alabaster again in this beautiful home…

The above lower cabinetry is natural wood (maple), and Alabaster is a beautiful, soft complement to it.
These next wood cabinets are as pickled as me on a Friday night. While I’ll be sensitive to bright lights, these cabinets will be sensitive to overly warm white paint colors…

Here are my favorite whites with pink or pickled wood. Keep in mind that if your wood is quite light with a pink undertone, be cautious with how much warmth you commit to – sample carefully!

The Best Medium-Depth Blue Paint Colors
If the above warm whites aren’t sitting right with your pink-stained or pickled wood finishes, you might need a more passive or brighter/cleaner approach to white. These less-yellow-cream shades can look great with wood trims, cabinets, and floors with more obvious pink undertones, like this oak floor with Sherwin Williams Pure White cabinets…

A wood like this can still handle a few of the warm whites.
