Sherwin Williams Roycroft Pewter: LRV, Undertones and a Little More
Whether you’re painting your exterior, kitchen cabinets or even a feature wall, Roycroft Pewter is a POPULAR choice for those wanting a color with a LITTLE MORE meat on its bones! Which is why we’re taking a closer look at it today in its FIRST EVER color review.
In order to show you RELATEABLE & REAL homes, I ONLY use photos from my Online Color Consulting clients. This means I don’t always have the range of pics I need, but DEFINITELY have some SUPER helpful info to help you on your way!
What type of paint color is Sherwin Williams Roycroft Pewter?
Roycroft Pewter is DEFINITELY a dark gray (charcoal) paint color, but unlike some other slightly more NEUTRAL grays, it has a pretty good dose of color in it, which we’ll be getting into shortly.
If you have north-facing light, you may find Roycroft looking a touch heavier and even cooler looking. However, with south-facing or western sun, it lifts up quite nicely and you just might notice its UNIQUE blend of undertones a little more!
What’s the LRV of Roycroft Pewter?
Roycroft Pewter has an LRV of 12.83, making it a dark paint color- on the lighter side of dark though, meaning it’s less likely to look blackish if you have a dark room.
Not sure what LRV is? It could save your paint lovin’ life – read all about it HERE.
What are the undertones of Roycroft Pewter? Will it look blue, green or purple?
Well, if you’re been drinkin’ the Ginger flavoured Koolaid for a while (wink wink), you’ll know that EVERY gray paint color has undertones – and Roycroft has MORE than most. And while Roycroft is called a ‘green’, I’ve found that it swings WILDLY between a blue undertone (slightly blue-green) to a stronger blue-green blend (meaning one doesn’t overpower the other).
