Benjamin Moore Gibraltar Cliffs: Undertones, LRV & More
With all the attention on gray, greige and white paint colors, there are some GLORIOUS, slightly DARKER colors being sadly neglected – colors like Benjamin Moore Gibraltar Cliffs.
In order to show you RELATEABLE & REAL homes, I ONLY use photos from my Online Color Consulting clients. This means I don’t always have the quality pics I need (hence the ‘QUICK Review’), but DEFINITELY have some SUPER helpful info to help you on your way!
What type of paint color is Benjamin Moore Gibraltar Cliffs? Is it warm or cool?
Gibraltar Cliffs is DEFINITELY a cool gray paint color, but it’s NOWHERE near being a true gray as it has a whole WHACK of undertone (which we’ll get into shortly).
In a room with north-facing light, Gibraltar Cliffs is more likely to look that bit more gray-blue, whereas in south-facing light or even western sun, it can soften up and you may see the undertones a BIT more.

While Gibraltar Cliffs is a gray paint color it has a DOMINANT blue undertone that flexes nicely into blue-green (blue can also lean other ways).

Is Gibraltar Cliffs a good color for the exterior of my home?
While I haven’t used or suggested Gibraltar Cliffs much on exteriors, that’s only because the trends right now are more gray and white with FAR less undertone. If you use it, expect the undertones to show up MORE rather than less and make sure it jibes with your roof and any stone/brickwork before slappin’ it on any walls!

In the top dining room/kitchen photo, the Gibraltar Cliffs paint buts up against a gray color wall. Could you tell me please what that paint color is? Thanks!
