Benjamin Moore Beach Glass 1564: Paint Color Review
Beach Glass: is “sea-riously” stunning
Are you looking for the elusive ‘perfect blue-gray’ paint color? If you want a calming, coastal, relaxing vibe, you’re on the right track with Benjamin Moore Beach Glass.
Beach Glass winks at sun-kissed shores on a hazy day, creating an atmosphere of spa-like relaxation. But does this mean it’s the perfect color for you and your home? Let’s find out…

BEFORE WE GET STARTED…
To show you RELATEABLE & REAL homes, I ONLY use photos from my Online Color Consulting clients. This means I don’t always have the quality photos I need or the RIGHT photos, but I have some SUPER helpful info to help you on your way!
IS BEACH GLASS A BLUE OR GREEN PAINT COLOR?
Good question! And while it can be open to perception, Beach Glass is blue with a healthy dose of green for balance. Blue can either lean blue-violet or blue-green, and there’s no messing around with Beach Glass about which way it leans! While its blue-green balance offers a pretty softness and a ‘perceived’ warmth compared to blue-violet, it’s still a cool shade at heart.

WHAT’S BEACH GLASS’S LRV?
Beach Glass’s LRV is 49.7, making it a light-medium depth. At this depth, it suits the average room with average or better-than-average light. If you have a dark room, you might consider a color with a bit more ‘color’ (chroma) to help counteract the darkness—the increased color could make it pop a bit more.
Not sure what LRV is? It could save your paint-lovin’ life – read all about it HERE.

WHAT UNDERTONES DOES BEACH GLASS HAVE?
While Beach Glass often reads as a moody, misty blue-gray, it has a reasonable amount of green blending in. The blue shows up at the party a bit more than green, but they both can flash depending on the exposure.

IS BEACH GLASS A GOOD COLOR FOR THE EXTERIOR OF A HOME?
It could be nice on the right home, but I’d say it probably wouldn’t come to the top of my mind often (if ever). This is because few exterior stones and bricks suit a color like this – never mind roofs. This isn’t to say it can’t work, but it would need to be a particular home – maybe one with a light gray metal roof?

IS BEACH GLASS A GOOD COLOR FOR KITCHEN CABINETS?
Beach Glass could be gorgeous on cabinets, especially if you’re creating a coastal kitchen. I say ‘coastal,’ not ‘beachy,’ because the beachy look often uses a more cheerful color palette. Coastal, in comparison, can be a bit stormy and moody.
If your home isn’t on the beach or a lake and you want a more timeless look, it’s smart to stick with white cabinets and consider a color like Beach Glass for your kitchen island or even your walls!

Hi Kylie,
Our kitchen cabinets are Revere Pewter and our countertop is Vicostone Verdelio. From reading your paint reviews, we are thinking Beach glass for the walls to play off this color in the countertop. in your professional opinion would this work? South facing room with either alabaster or white dove on the ceiling and trim.
Ann
We used beach glass on the exterior of our home, along with dark green and white trim. Complete strangers stop when we are out in our front yard to ask us what color the house is. It’s a lovely gentle color that fits in well with the landscape. We highly recommend it as an exterior color.
