Sherwin Williams Cyberspace: LRV, Undertones and a WHOLE LOT MORE
When it comes to paint colours, I have an appreciation for most depths, and in my own home, I have a bit of everything. Light, medium, dark, they all have their place, but it’s those skookum heavy colours that really talk to me (either that or I’ve drunk too much wine as Doug the dog is also talking to me). Anyway.
Today, I wanted to talk about one of my FAAAAVE dark paint colours…
What type of paint colour is Cyberspace? Is it a real navy blue?
Cyberspace is a WICKED navy blue. And while there are BRIGHTER navy blue paint colours out there, Cyberspace is a great way to get a strong look, without going over the top.
Is Cyberspace a warm or cool paint colour?
Cyberspace is a cool paint colour (literally AND figuratively), however, you might find that dark colours can give the ILLUSION of warmth or coziness, just via their added DEPTH (compared to light versions).
What’s the LRV of Cyberspace?
Cyberspace has a VERY dark LRV of 6. This low LRV means it’s WELL into the dark range (learn more HERE).
Not sure what LRV is? It could save your paint lovin’ life – read all about it HERE.
What are the undertones and general colour profile of Cyberspace? Will it look black?
If you have a DARK room it can look a bit blackish, but its GLORIOUS colour will rise up if you hit it with some interior lighting!
What’s the best way to sample Cyberspace?
Like with every paint colour, I highly recommend using SAMPLIZE. Samplize is a peel & stick paint sample that you can easily move around your room for over HALF THE COST of traditional sample pots – and they deliver right to your front door!
If I’m painting my walls Cyberspace, what’s the best white paint colour for my trim?
THERE ARE SO MANY! If I were starting from scratch, I might look at…
- Sherwin Williams High Reflective White
- Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace
- Really though, the only white I wouldn’t partner it with is one that’s TOO warm/creamy
Is Cyberspace a good colour for the exterior of my home?
If you’re thinking of Cyberspace for your front door or shutters, I would say YES (as long as it suits the other features of your home). If you’re thinking of it for your WHOLE home, just make sure you know what you’re getting into as it’s a super dark colour and may fade faster with south-facing or afternoon western sunshine. If you have north-facing/shaded light, it could look just a WINK blackish, but the blue should still show up to the party.

Is Cyberspace a popular navy blue paint colour?
Absolutely. I DO think it’s under-utilized due to its placement in the fan deck, as it isn’t with the main navy blues, but personally, it’s my fave!
Is Cyberspace a good paint colour for kitchen cabinets or an island?
YES YES YES! In fact, it’s one of my faves as it’s SO versatile…
What Benjamin Moore paint colours are the same as or similar to Cyberspace?
Every colour has its own particular nuances and there will be NO perfect match – you WILL see shifts in undertones, temperature and depths, but you could check out…

What type of paint colours look good with Cyberspace?
There are TONS of paint colours that would love to be partnered with Cyberspace…
- Cyberspace makes a great feature wall with many cream paint colours, gray and greige paint colours and even white!
- Cyberspace loves greige paint colours
- Cyberspace looks sharp with a slightly cool or warm gray, but doesn’t love ones that have a wink o’ green in them quite as much
