BENJAMIN MOORE RODEO: Revere Pewter’s KISSIN’ COUSIN!
If you love Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter, then strap on your chaps and slide on those cowboy boots – we’re going to the RODEO!
In order to show you RELATEABLE & REAL homes, I ONLY use photos from my Online Color Consulting clients. This means I don’t always have the quality pics I need, but DEFINITELY have some SUPER helpful info to help you on your way!
Is Rodeo a warm or cool gray?
Rodeo is a WARM gray but not warm enough to hit the greige end of things. Even if you have south-facing light, Rodeo will still look gray, it will just be warmer looking than usual. If you have north-facing light, Rodeo will lean back into its gray base, losing a bit of that warmth without looking overly cold or icy.

What’s its LRV?
Rodeo has an LRV of 60.65. This LRV puts Rodeo in the light range, but not ANYWHERE NEAR the off-white range, as it has some reasonable meat on its bones.
The LRV of Rodeo is one of the reasons I love it. Whereas Revere Pewter sits at 55.51, Rodeo is a bit lighter and softer looking. With that slightly lower LRV, Revere Pewter can look a bit dingy and heavy in darker, low-light rooms. And while you’ll still want to be careful with Rodeo, its higher LRV has a better chance of settling in.

What are the undertones of Rodeo? Will it look like a true gray?
Just like Revere Pewter, Rodeo has a green undertone – it’s SUBTLE. The less committed a gray is to its undertone, the more likely it is to pick up the others, which is one reason why it’s so hard to find a true gray. So, while Rodeo does have that green, it’s on the subtle side and could disappear in some rooms, being replaced by very SUBTLE blue or violet undertones.
In the above photo, you can really see how subtle the green undertone can be!
Can I sample it right on my existing wall color?
Like with every paint color, I highly recommend using SAMPLIZE. Samplize is a peel & stick paint sample that you can easily move around your room for over HALF THE COST of traditional sample pots – and they deliver right to your front door!

If I’m painting my walls Rodeo, what’s the best white paint color for my trim?
Rodeo is reasonably flexible, but if I’m going to CHOOSE a white, I’m probably going to hit Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. I also like Sherwin Williams Pure White.

SHOULD I Paint My Wood Cabinets White? A QUESTIONNAIRE
Is Rodeo a good exterior paint color?
Rodeo is touch and go. It can work, as its subtle green undertone can humour some concrete and mortars, but its depth leaves it vulnerable to washing out if you get a good hit of natural light on it, especially southern light.
5 Tips to Choosing an Exterior Paint Color
Does Sherwin Williams have a color that’s the same as or similar to Rodeo?
Remember, every color has its own particular nuances and there will be NO perfect match – you WILL see shifts in undertones, temperature and depths, but you could check out…

Chat soon,
I have a question. I am thinking about doing Rodeo on my main room walls, hallways and bathrooms and the ceiling and the trim Vanilla Milkshake. We have dark floors and a grey fireplace. Do you think those two paint colors will bring too much “cream/yellow” into the room. We have plenty of windows in the main room.
Thank you

Ooooo, Vanilla Milkshake ALWAYS makes me nervous I’d rather see a shift to BM White Dove, SW PUre White or even BM Chantilly Lace.
I am looking for a greige with green undertone for my stairwell, upstairs hallway and downstairs living room. My house is south facing. Would you recommend Rodeo or Hazy Skies? I think Revere Pewter would be too dark.
Author
There’s a big difference between the two as Hazy Skies COMMITS to a green, whereas Rodeo caaan grab green, but it can also seem a bit…not green and a touch violet, depending on the surroundings/light source. So if you WANT green, Hazy Skies is better. I also love SW Gossamer Veil (type it into my SEARCH and you’ll see its review :))
