Benjamin Moore Grant Beige: LRV, Undertones and a WHOLE Lot More!
When it comes to beige and tan paint colours, it can be hard to find that perfect one – not too golden, not too pink, not too early 2000s. However, regardless of the decade, Grant Beige is one of those paint colours that keeps on working, and today, we’re going to find out why!
What type of paint colour is Grant Beige? Is it beige or tan?
While a lot of people assume beige and tan are the same thing (and they’re close), I see them a bit differently. In my books, Grant Beige is actually MORE like a tan, as it doesn’t have the traditional golden warmth of many beige paint colours and falls back a bit more soft and neutral, which is consistent with many of the popular tan paint colours.
Is Grant Beige a warm or cool paint colour?
While Grant Beige IS a warm paint colour, it’s not golden warm and is more subtle in its approach.
What’s the LRV of Grant Beige?
With an LRV of 56, Grant Beige is teetering on the edge of the light range, but giving a SOLID nod to the light-medium end of things, with a bit more visual weight than some other popular tan paint colours.

What are the undertones of Grant Beige? Will it look gold, green or yellow?
All beige and tan paint colours have undertones, and Grant Beige is no exception. Grant Beige has a very (very) minor green undertone and of the warm undertones, caters just slightly to yellow. Overall though, it’s a relatively passive neutral.
What’s the best way to sample Grant Beige?
Like with every paint colour, I highly recommend using SAMPLIZE. Samplize is a peel & stick paint sample that you can easily move around your room for over HALF THE COST of traditional sample pots – and they deliver right to your front door!

Is Grant Beige a good colour for the exterior of my home?
Grant Beige can work with some exteriors, but with that very minor green undertone, it can sit a bit off with some of the popular stone and brick colours, which often pick up a mild orange, purple or pink undertone. Just check things carefully to make sure things are jibing.

Not particularly, no. That doesn’t mean it won’t work for you, but as far as trends go, people are learning more into the gray and greige end of things.

What type of paint colours look good with Grant Beige?
Grant Beige has some preferences due to its passive green undertone, so you DO want to be careful with the colours you choose to partner it with…

- You can also look at some grays, especially ones with a blue undertone that are a bit darker than Grant Beige
- Grant Beige likes to be partnered with more earth-toned, grayed-out paint colours
