The Best Vanities for Small Bathrooms
1. Best Overall: Rejuvenation Islington

- Dimensions: 26-1/4″ W 32-1/2″ H 23-5/8″ D
After years of light-colored woods and neutral palettes dominating design trends, seeing dark walnut finishes and moody spaces feels like a breath of fresh air! While I still love lighter, white oak, I could be tempted by this darker wood stain.
This vanity’s fluted accent and gold hardware make it look more like an heirloom than a new find. It would fill even the smallest powder rooms with a sophisticated air. I’d pair this vanity with an equally popular William Morris-inspired wallpaper and brass lighting to complement the cabinet hardware. With walnut, you can go either light, with marble and varying shades of white, or dark for some personality and drama.
2. Best Blue Vanity: Allen + Roth Lancashire

- Dimensions: 22″D x 24″W x 34.5″H
Calm blues and blue-grays are in the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean a vanity in this color range can’t come across as timeless in the right build — particularly in a classic chambray color. This vanity has staying power, thanks to the classic style of its Shaker cabinets and a white countertop. This vanity’s storage options, including a pull-out drawer, is perfect for a space that may pull double-duty for guests or kids — since we all know there’s no such thing as too much storage! It would be fun to pair this vanity with a patterned floor tile, especially if it includes a contrasting orange, but you can also keep the rest of the room simple so that this vanity shines.
3. Best All-White Vanity: Emma 30-Inch Single Bathroom Vanity

- Dimensions: 34” H X 30” W X 22” D
Small powder rooms have to make a statement with details. And if you’d like to keep this room bright and airy, you can’t go wrong with an all-white appearance that has the added flair of fluted fronts. If you want some fun, choose a geometric wallpaper print or a cheery paint color — like an orangey pink. Then, add gold accents where you can and a small vase of flowers for guests. They’ll be instantly charmed with your small but personalized loo!
4. Best Super Compact Vanity: Sand & Stable Jewell

- Dimensions: 34” H X 20.4” W X 15.75” D
Let’s say you have less than two feet to spare for a small bathroom, and you’re looking at this challenge like a half-empty glass (which is always the case when I’m drinking wine; it never lasts long). The truth is, a super compact vanity can turn into a glass half-full. This option can be squeezed into a 20-inch nook with a cabinet and an open shelf for stuff and styling.
Plus, it can be delivered in various colors, from white and black to forest green and navy blue.
You can personalize the vanity further by changing the hardware and faucet, which would also look great in shiny gold or matte black.
5. Best Minimalist Vanity: Pottery Barn Clarence Apothecary Vanity

- Dimensions: 36″ W x 22″ D x 33″ H
With the right choices, you can create a small bathroom experience that feels like you’re staying at a five-star hotel (which is how Momma loves to roll). Its “modern-minimalist” style is made of plated iron and a thick marble sink, which comes together with clean lines and a forever stylish black-and-white motif. Make this vanity the star of the room by keeping the rest of the colors neutral but adding a light fixture that’s just as commanding. With plush towels and a big mirror, you’ll have accomplished the “hotel at home” look from a single anchoring piece.
6. Best Fluted Vanity: West Elm Ellington

- Dimensions: 24″W x 22.5″D x 34″H
You can’t go wrong with clean lines in a small space, and this blonde oak vanity makes that especially clear: Its fluted trio of drawers makes simplicity extra stylish, and those dark bronze pulls don’t take away from the wood’s effect. The no-fuss feet at the bottom of the vanity also coordinate with the rounded edges, making everything feel intentional without coming across as trying too hard (no one loves a try-hard). The clean lines of this vanity mean that you can try out a range of colors to finish off the room, too.
7. Best Storage Vanity: West Elm Harrison

- Dimensions: 24″ W x 22″ D x 34″H
I’m borderline obsessed with the color of this vanity. But, I suppose it’s not ALL about me…
If there’s one issue you should avoid in a small space, it’s packing it with too much furniture. This vanity’s concealed and open-shelf storage eliminates the need for much more — like shelving over the toilet or a medicine cabinet above the sink — giving a lot that’s more inviting while still being functional. The green shade would give off more personality, especially when paired with beige or blue tiles, but I wouldn’t blame you if you stuck to the white option instead.
8. Best Black Vanity: Pottery Barn Ilsa

- Dimensions: 24″ W x 21.75″ D x 35″ H
Small bathrooms can make striking shades, like an all-black vanity, feel even more impactful. The traditional feel of the build and the marble top contrast the black finish well and make it easy to try out patterned wallpaper that’s equally eye-catching. In this case, I’d go all-out: Pick a wallpaper with lots of color and movement, then pair the black vanity with a light fixture. When friends and family visit your small bathroom, they’re bound to have thoughts on it (and the design of powder rooms can be a great conversation starter).
9. Best Navy Blue Vanity: Grigg 37″ Single Bathroom Vanity

- Dimensions: 35” H X 37” W X 22” D
Calling all summer lovers! This navy blue vanity would be right at home in a sophisticated beach house, given its slatted bottom shelf and white marble top that accents gold hardware on a trio of shelves. You can add woven baskets to that shelf for extra storage that’s perfectly on theme, and then it’ll be even more fun to find a vanity with a woven feature, too. Just don’t add too many seashells, ya hippie, you want it to feel coastal, not cliche or tacky.
10. Best Wood Vanity: Pottery Barn Modern Farmhouse 27” Vanity

- Dimensions: 22″ D x 33″H x 27″ W
Rustic wood and a quartz countertop complement each other in this modern farmhouse-style vanity that still looks fresh because of its clean lines and small footprint. Lean into the farmhouse by pairing this vanity with simple subway tiles, or add in some unexpected flair with a funky vanity mirror that coordinates with a basket on the lowest shelf. You’ll also love that the drawers come with their own dividers!
11. Best Greige-Taupe Vanity: Allen + Roth Sandbanks 30” Single Sink Vanity

- Dimensions: 21” D x 35” H x 30” W
I’ll always have a soft spot in my design heart for greige since it goes so well with gold detailing. This vanity is the epitome of that greige-meets-gold beauty, thanks to fluted detailing and matte hardware that ensures every last inch gets its stylish due. This vanity is best for a classic, traditional bathroom where minimalism reigns, but it would also look great alongside patterned floral wallpaper.
This wallpaper from Anthropologie caught my eye. It’s a bit more passive, being in lower contrast with the vanity, but the charming pattern adds interest and personality without trying too hard.
12. Best Mid-Century Style Vanity: AllModern Ronson 36” Single Sink Vanity

- Dimensions: 34.49” H X 35.98” W X 22.05” D
Punctuated by warm walnut fronts and fluted detailing, this mid-century vanity finishes with tapered legs and a white marble countertop. Besides having lots of storage space—two shelves behind a cabinet and two drawers—the best thing about this vanity is that the surrounding details can be straightforward OR fun and funky! I’d love to see this with black tilework and a black-framed mirror, plus some brass for a bit of shine.
On the other hand, if you want to have a little fun, you could add some contrast with this gorgeous green grasscloth wallpaper—COME TO MOMMA!
13. Best Double Vanity: The Wimberly Bathroom Vanity

- Dimensions: 60″ W 22″ D 35″ H
If your small bathroom has space for a double vanity, you should add one. After all, nothing is better for a marriage than not fighting over sink space and spitting toothpaste in each other’s faces. I love the gorgeous metal accents on this vanity and the navy blue color (though it also comes in dark brown). The countertop is quartz, so you don’t have to worry about stains as much as you do with marble, and there’s plenty of storage space, too.

What to Know About Vanities for Small Bathrooms

What’s the Best Vanity Color for a Small Bathroom?
A small bathroom presents the opportunity to go bold in an area that can handle personality much more easily than if it were huge. Fun, unexpected art prints, wallpaper, or unexpected details tend to make a small bathroom feel like a jewel box. This is the space to lean into your favorite things without worrying about pesky details like overdoing it on trends or resale value.
My advice? Choose a color that you love, and build around it. If you’re not sure, look outside of your bathroom to see what would flow. What accent colors have you used in adjoining rooms? Or even better, if you’re working with existing finishes in your bathroom, find colors that jibe with them!
The best way to anchor colorful paints, intriguing tiles, or bright accessories is to find a small vanity that compliments or slightly contrasts those choices.
What is the Smallest Double Sink Vanity?
A good rule of thumb for deciding whether a small bathroom can actually fit a double vanity is to think of how much room you need in the morning. Since you’ll probably want to elbow anyone who gets too close—just kidding (#not)—I would give someone 30 to 36 inches to maneuver around a sink. If you have space to fit at least 60 inches comfortably in your small bathroom, then you can likely fit a double sink vanity.
Should a Vanity be Flush With a Side Wall?
Not necessarily. Depending on the width of the wall your vanity is going on, sometimes a vanity that looks more like a free-standing piece of furniture is better than squishing against one wall or another. If this is the case, having at least 6″ on either side of the countertop is best. This way, you can hang a wall-mount towel ring/hook.
OF COURSE, it’s ideal if your vanity runs left to right, hitting both walls so that it looks built-in, but for that to happen, you do need a custom vanity.
