This open layout living room and dining room had beautiful oak floors and a great layout – all it needed was an aesthetic makeover with some furniture and paint colours! Using Benjamin Moore’s Jamesboro Gold and Northampton Putty, we added a relaxing warm glow to the space.
Before, you can see how the golden oak flooring looked date with the yellow toned wood furniture and walls…
After, it’s still warm and earth-toned, but much more updated!
The glorious cream shag rug and beautiful stone fireplace surround add texture without pattern and the mantle – painted Benjamin Moore Willow , sets a solid focal pointwhether you’re living or dining!
Also, you’ll see a LOVELY maple table in the dining room – this is the original maple table that they had. We swapped out the chairs with more modern leather parsons chairs and the homeowners refinished the table with guidance from yours truly! They did an amazing job and were smart to put a glass top on it to protect it. To view the maple table project please click here…”How to Update a Maple Table”

Hi, Kylie: Once again you’ve done a great job. The fireplace flanked by the windows is much like our living room. Your treatment of the fireplace has give me a great idea!
Well said Janet! Looks similar to our townhouse and I have been having trouble with the fireplace and all builders beige walls. Thanks Kylie for all your inspiration.
