Sherwin Williams NEWEST Collection of Paint Colors: DESIGNER EDITION

It’s not often that a paint brand comes out with a whole new line of colors. So, needless to say, I’m SUPER pumped that Sherwin Williams introduced an entirely new line in a collection called ‘Emerald Designer Edition’.

Hooray, more colors to choose from, we were running out of options – SAID NOBODY EVER! Well, nobody but ME. Because while you might already be swimming in the deep end of the paint pool, I live and BREATHE this stuff. And that’s why you have me, to get rid of the riff-raff and point you towards today’s TOP paint colors – consider me your floatation device.

So, let’s talk about what you can expect with this new collection…

  • 200 NEW COLORS that can ONLY BE MADE in the Emerald Designer Edition line (which you KNOW I’ll be trying to color match in less expensive lines, just to see if I can)
  • FOUR FINISHES: matte, flat, satin and semi-gloss
  • NEW BRIGHTER WHITES: which I’m always happy to see
  • Better HIDE than their other lines. Hide means it will cover old surfaces better with fewer coats and could potentially save you buying another gallon (or from having to use primer). This is courtesy of a new white base (every paint starts out with a base, which is what’s in the gallon when you pull it off the shelf)

This paint is HIGH-END and is priced accordingly. But if the rumours are to be believed, it’s a pretty fantastic product and the new colors are hard to beat.

So, in the next few weeks/months, I’ll be reviewing this collection, starting with what I THINK will be the top-sellers. If there are any colors you want me to review from this new collection, let me know!

UPDATE: Check out the newest WHITE PAINT COLORS in this collection and a few colors in my BENJAMIN MOORE & SHERWIN WILLIAMS PAINT COLORS REVIEWS section!

In the near future (weeks), you’ll also see these colors pop up in my YOUTUBE color reviews!

  1. I would love to see if you can get them to color match to a different line! I’m seriously considering it for the Succulent color, which is a close match to Benjamin Moore Enchanted Forest or Caldwell Green (based on paper swatches only). My cabinet maker only uses Sherwin Williams cabinet paint, so it would have to be color matched.

P.S. Would love to see you review Succulent as a color, too 🙂 It’s so hard to pick the right moody green-blue-gray (especially if you’re allergic to the lighter tones like I am).

  2. Hi Kylie, Oh they have some beautiful colors but I wish they had a matte finish. They have a flat which is really flat! Then they do have an eggshell but in my opinion it’s shinier than most other egg shells. It would be nice if they sold samples .. hopefully in the future!

I TOTALLY AGREE! I mean, at least the flat is high quality, making it more washable than other lines, but STILL… I think they’d sell SO MUCH MORE if they had samples! In the meantime, you can order them (peel and stick samples, which are AWESOME) through Hello Paint (CDN, even if you’re in the US). Samplize is in the US, but I’m not sure they have the Designer Edition colours yet!
